Kiss

Kiss Tickets The band KISS may be best known for their outlandish makeup and elaborate stage acts, but real fans know there is much more to their appeal than that. Although theatre and showmanship has always played a big roll for KISS, it is the music that helped them connect with their fans and kept those KISS tickets selling so well.

Early fans of the band will no doubt remember the evil cartoon character persona that KISS has so carefully crafted, highlighted of course by front man Gene Simmons and his fire-breathing tongue-wagging ways. The band was founded by Simmons and Paul Stanley, who first met in 1970 when they were in another band. Drummer Peter Criss joined the band soon after, found through an ad he had placed in Rolling Stone magazine. The band was complete when Ace Frehley joined and developed the spaceman persona that fans would come to know and love.

Early KISS shows were held at small venues, and in those days KISS was just one of many bands trying to make a name for themselves. The band played a few well received shows throughout the New York region, and it was there they met an independent television director named Bill Aucoin. Bill helped the band ink a deal with Casablanca records, and the rest is history.

KISS was not an instant hit with critics. In fact the critics panned the band's first couple of efforts. Fans reacted much differently, however, and they continued to buy KISS tickets in droves to see their favorite band. Fans loved the first album, and they continued to support every new release.

In fact, the band's fans were so loyal that they quickly became known as the KISS Army. Those army members continued to snap up KISS tickets as soon as they became available, and they were anxious to spread the word about their favorite band and introduce their music to all their friends.

KISS finally hit the big time with the 1975 release of is album Alive!. The Alive! Album included the quintessential rock anthem and top twenty hit Rock and Rol All Nite, a tune that just about everyone, KISS fan or not, will be familiar with.

As the 1970s progressed, the music KISS produced became more commercial while still retaining its quality and style. The most notable example of this shift was the Peter Criss ballad Beth, which became a top ten hit in 1976 and went on to sell over a million copies.

The release of Beth in particular helped change the landscape of KISS fans, as more teenagers joined the original older fans. Suddenly teenage girls were begging their parents for KISS tickets and asking for rides to the shows. As those teenage boys and girls grew up, many of them remained dedicated members of the KISS army, following the band from city to city and enjoying their wonderfully theatrical live shows.

The longevity of the KISS brand speaks to their creativity and the quality of their music. Even in 2014 the band continues to endure, and new generations continue to discover their music. Some of the fans buying KISS tickets for the 2014 tour are the children and grandchildren of the original KISS Army members, and that is a testament to a band that will live forever.
